Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are now open and may shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the subsequent criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home by using a combined gross house income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic profits won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not read more submit any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
